Cranbrook posts 35-0 win over WOLL; Wittenburg throws 4 TD's
The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes won a CHSL crossover game with a 35-0 win over the Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes Lakers (WOLL) at home on Saturday.
Senior QB Shane Wittenberg went 8 for 11 on 225 yards and 4 TD passes finding junior Alex Yolles for 3 TD’s. Junior John Kersh also hauled in a TD’s catch, while senior RB Ethan Peruski scored on a short 2-yard run for the only rushing TD of the game.
The win was Cranbrook’s first victory over WOLL since 2016. The Lakers still hold a 3-5 advantage of head-to-head match ups with the Cranes all-time.
“We were able to establish our run game early,” said Cranes Head Coach Nick LaFontaine. “We were able to get into space and make good plays.
This was the first win of LaFontaine’s career at Cranbrook.
“It was good for the program to get a win, especially over a storied rival such as Lakes,” said Coach LaFontaine. “WOLL played hard and continued to give a good effort throughout the game. I look forward to many more contests with them in the future.”
The Cranes open their CHSL Intersectional I division schedule next week facing Bishop Foley on the road.
