Rochester too much for Berkley as the Falcons pull away in the 2nd half (Recap + video)

Rochester started off hot and weathered a Berkley comeback during the 2nd quarter. Once quarter #3 / the second half started, Berkley had no answer for anything Rochester did as Rochester wound up breaking away from a 38-34 lead they held at the half to win by the score of 71-55.

Like usual LaMarkco Gulledge was nearly unstoppable for Rochester as he was dominant again near the rim and made some very good jump shots, the last points of the 2nd quarter was a nice shot Gulledge had to give Rochester a 4-point halftime lead. Gulledge was a force to be reckoned with defensively as well as Berkley had several shots blocked and at least two times had players who needed to shoot the ball too high and resulted in missed points.

Rochester's Hunter Schattler turned out another impressive game as the Guard controlled the ball well, made some nice early 3-pointers in the first half, and in the second half had some nice layups.

Berkley's Greg McGee was responsible for breaking an early 9 point lead by Rochester and making it a close game. McGee was all of Berkley's first half offense. The shifty playmaker was knocking down shots all over the court.

Rochester adjusted to McGee in the 2nd half as Berkley passed the ball more than they would like and held McGee to just an uncontested short range shot in the final minutes of the game.

Rochester improves to 8-2 on the year, while Berkley became 8-1.

Berkley will like to get back on track vs. Pontiac, while Rochester heads to crosstown rival Rochester Adams in what should be a full-house on Friday night.
